“Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:20). Jesus’ words were not only directed to the disciples but also to Christians today. Just as a fisherman throws a net in hope to catch fish, so does a Christian when he proclaims the gospel with the hope of bringing salvation to the lost. Today’s episode discusses our responsibility as Christians to proclaim the gospel faithfully and trust in it as the only power to bring salvation. The gospel is “the power of God for salvation,” “the righteousness of God,” and a “demonstration of the Spirit” that brings “full conviction.” We also touch on the doctrine of election and how it is God alone that opens the eyes and grants the gift of faith in Christ.
